Santa Fe: February 3-5, 2012:
Santa Fe was the first club inspired trip! At the time, I had just finalized the paper work that established Tech Ski and Snowboard as an organization at Texas Tech. Michael Sax found out about the club through SGA and contacted me to see if I wanted to go on a random trip to Santa Fe not three days beforehand. With 15 inches of fresh, New Mexico snow, neither of us could have asked for a better trip to start out what has become the Tech Ski and Snowboard Club! Michael Sax later became the club's first Treasurer.

Taos: February 24-26, 2012:
Taos was the second ski club trip through Tech Ski and Snowboard. Unfortunately, the snow was not as great as it was in Santa Fe; Taos had been going through a dry spell for the past week or two, but it was still a blast. We decided to take the hike up to the 12,455 foot tall Kachina Peak. After an hour and a half, we finally made it to some of the most epic terrain Taos has to offer. The great news is that this hike has now been eliminated with the introduction of the Kachina Peak Lift!
Breckenridge: Winter Break 2013:
Breckenridge was the breakout trip for the Tech Ski and Snowboard. Previously, the most people we'd had on a trip was 11 to Wolf Creek, CO. For this trip, we had a turnout of 26 people! It was definitely the start of some rapid improvement and growth for the Tech Ski and Snowboard Club. While the snow wasn't as great as we wanted (only 18-23" base), the people that attended the trip made it one of the best vacations most of us have ever been on! Before this trip, five more officers were added to Tech Ski and Snowboard; Steven Jacob (Vice-President), Laura Gray (Records Keeper), Brian Hartwig (Fundraising and Community Service), Charles Hicks (Replaced Michael Sax as Treasurer), and Austin Nettleton (PR).
Taos: February 21-23, 2013:
This was one of the best trips to Taos. One of the days we were there saw a nice 5" dump of fresh powder, which did a lot to freshen up West Basin Ridge and the Highline Route! However, this is also the trip where we had to deal with our first hospitalization. Austin - yes, the officer - fell on a rail at Maxies and cracked two ribs. He then snowboarded down the mountain - what a boss, and had to be driven to the hospital. That was the latest we ever got back to Lubbock on a ski trip. We drove into the Wal-Mart parking lot around 3:00 in the morning. If you look at the first group picture, you can see where we photo-shopped Austin in.
Wolf Creek Ski Area: February 5-7, 2013:
This trip was the start of a Tech Ski and Snowboard Club tradition; going to Wolf Creek's closing day weekend. The snow is still fantastic and has some of the best corn you'll find when it comes to Spring Skiing! Just be careful in the morning when the runs are frozen over from last night's freeze. You usually don't want to start on non-groomed runs until around 10:00 am!
2014 Ski Trips:
Unfortunately, we don't have a lot of pictures from the 2014 ski season due to the lack of a historian to take pictures. However, some the trips we went on included Wolf Creek Ski Area, Aspen for Winter Break, Arapahoe Basin (Spring Break and after finals), and Copper Mountain!
