Social events
Tech Ski and Snowboard realizes the fact that we can't expect people to just hop in a car with random strangers for an 8 hour car ride to Colorado. However, it's ironic that that's what happened with the first few trips the club had. Either way, we try to avoid that now by hosting several social events throughout the fall and spring semester so people can get to know each other, have fun, and meet new people who share a common interest!
These social events were just recently added to the itinerary to provide a way for people to stay active inside of the club without having to go on all the trips. Ski trips are expensive, so we try to set up free/cheep social events to keep our members active without having to empty their bank accounts trying to be involved in the organization! Some of the free social events we have are payed for by dues. These include:
Other social events we have that aren't free, but generally cost around $5-10 are the following (an exception being the Mae Simmons mountain biking day, which costs more because of the mountain bike rental)
We avoid scheduling social events on football game days, but if we do, we schedule them before the game and give you plenty of time to get back home or to the stadium to watch the game. Something to understand is that weather does not always cooperate with our plans so we do sometimes have to cancel our events!
If you have any ideas for new social events, feel free to send us a comment using the 'contact' link in the 'The Club' drop-down menu!
